About HashCheckr
HashCheckr computes and verifies file checksums. You drop a file into the terminal window on the home page, pick one or more algorithms, and read the digests — then paste the checksum the download page published and get a straight answer about whether the two agree.
Everything happens inside the page. The file is read through the browser's File API in 8 MB slices and hashed by a WebAssembly build of hash-wasm running in a Web Worker; nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and the page makes no network requests at all once it has loaded. That is also why there is no size limit and no queue — the only ceiling is how fast your own disk reads.
It is built and maintained by Interhive OÜ, a small studio in Tallinn that makes tiny, dependable web tools.
What it does
- Nine algorithms
SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, SHA3-256, BLAKE3, SHA-1, MD5, CRC32 and xxHash64, computed in one pass over the file.
- Files of any size
8 MB chunks, a Web Worker, live throughput and a stop button. Multi-gigabyte images are the normal case, not the edge case.
- Verification that explains itself
Paste a digest in any common format; the algorithm is detected from its length and a mismatch highlights the exact characters that differ.
- Manifests both ways
Read a
SHA256SUMSfile to check a whole set by name, or write one for the files you dropped and re-check them later withsha256sum -c.
